Guinea pigs must be healthy and we can not execpt any sick animals.

How this all started

We never planned on rehoming animals (Guinea Pig Rescue Sydney)  in such a big way, it just happened, almost like a calling. We tranditionally back in the old days were a pet shop that specialised in all things avian, So we used to rehomed older birds as we grew, through the teams knowlegde and interests we diversafied into small animal, mostly products.

Our goal was to offer customers a unique experience by  becoming Australia’s leading small animal specialis. While trying to achieve this we noticed alot of people with guinea pigs has changing circumstances and need to find new homes for their beloved older pets. This was a turning point, as most places only sold baby animals as older animals are not as popular , but we understood the necessary for olders Guinea pigs to go to the right home and have proper care.  So we started Guinea Pig Rescue Sydney Based at Birdsville also known as Petsville! We have always had the rule that we will only sell animals that we will rehome, so it all went hand in hand and it all snow balled from there, so here we are today.

So, yes we do still sell a small range of birds, fish and small animal, with mostly product but we also take and offer for adoption any bird or small animal that needs a new home.  We do not have the facility to rehome cats and dogs.

Guinea Pig Re-homing

Owning a guinea pig is a very lovely and rewarding experience, however it does come with a great deal of responsibility.  Some guinea pig owners find themself in a position where they feel they need to give up their pet, this could be for a number of different reasons although giving up an unwanted pet should always be a last resort.

At Guinea Pig Rescue Sydney based in Birdsville also known as petsville we do appreciate in some circumstances giving up a guinea pig is the right thing to do. It can be a distressing time for both you and your guinea pig so it must be done the right way. This is where we have helped thousands of unwanted animals find a home and also assisted guinea pig owners peace of mind when coming to this difficult decision.

We have never said no to any guinea pig needing a home (providing thers is space availablity), the only conditions are we can not take sick, matted and injured guinea pig as we are not a vet, these animals must be fixed up at a vet before they are brought in to be rehomed.
